Asia Cement Wins Double Gold at 2025 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards

Asia Cement Corporation has received two Gold Awards at the 2025 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards, with the award ceremony to be held on the 11th. The company was honored with the SDG 1 Gold Award for its initiative “Empowering Indigenous Communities through Education Transformation,” and the SDG 13 Gold Award for “From Cement to Low Carbon: Advancing Climate Action,” recognizing its achievements in both social and environmental sustainability.

On the social front, Asia Cement has long been committed to Indigenous communities in Hualien, guided by the vision of transforming education to foster community self-reliance. Through the Asia Cement Service Center, operating on the principle of serving communities by community members, the company supports local education, youth development, cultural preservation, employment matching, and community-based disaster preparedness, building a comprehensive local support network.

In terms of environmental action, Asia Cement aligns its climate strategy with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and has achieved its 2025 carbon reduction target ahead of schedule, becoming the only cement company in Taiwan to do so consistently. The company has implemented diversified carbon management measures, published TCFD and TNFD reports, adopted internal carbon pricing, and achieved cumulative carbon reductions of 587,000 metric tons. Asia Cement also advances the circular economy through innovative collaborations, promoting low-carbon cement and supporting the industry’s green transition.
