Asia Cement Wins AREA Award for the Seventh Consecutive Year
First-Time Recognition for Excellence in Corporate Governance

The 2025 Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards (AREA) ceremony was held on June 27 in Bangkok, Thailand. For the seventh consecutive year, Asia Cement Corporation (ACC) has been honored at this prestigious event. This year, ACC received the Corporate Governance Award for the first time, recognizing the company’s concrete actions in promoting integrity and strengthening corporate governance. The award reflects ACC’s continued progress and outstanding performance in governance transparency, ethical culture, and sustainable management.

Asia Cement President Mr. Kun-Yen Lee remarked that integrity has always been the cornerstone of ACC’s operations. “This recognition affirms our institutional framework and corporate culture, and it encourages our team to uphold the highest standards of ESG accountability and sustainable governance,” he said. “Integrity is not a slogan—it is embedded in our daily decision-making. Guided by a zero-tolerance policy on bribery, we continue to enhance our governance systems, turning ethics into a key advantage in risk management and brand competitiveness.”

In its commitment to integrity, Asia Cement implemented the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System in 2022, establishing a robust and effective framework across the organization. All 15 members of the board and all Taiwan-based employees have signed the Anti-Bribery Policy Compliance Statement, demonstrating a shared commitment to ethical conduct from the boardroom to the frontlines. As of the end of 2024, the company reported zero incidents of corruption, bribery, conflicts of interest, money laundering, or insider trading, and achieved 100% compliance with its anti-bribery objectives.

To strengthen ESG governance, Asia Cement has incorporated ESG performance into its executive compensation scheme. If key sustainability indicators—such as carbon emissions, pollution control, and workplace safety—are not met, performance-based bonuses are reduced. This mechanism ensures that senior management remains accountable for the company’s sustainability goals and enhances organizational execution. In addition, the board of directors has adopted an external performance evaluation system, with all indicators scoring above 4.8 in the 2025 review, underscoring the board’s governance effectiveness. The company’s Sustainability Committee is composed of a majority of independent external directors, bringing professional perspectives to strengthen oversight, ensure forward-looking strategies, and drive effective implementation.

With seven consecutive AREA awards in diverse ESG categories, Asia Cement’s consistent performance reflects a balanced and deeply rooted commitment across environmental, social, and governance pillars. The company remains steadfast in advancing its governance structure, strengthening risk controls and ethical management, and aligning international standards with internal practices to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—moving steadily toward long-term corporate sustainability and shared value with society.
