Asia Cement and Subsidiary Lead the Charge in Low-Carbon Building Materials at Taipei Building Show The 2024 Taipei Building Show, held on December 12th, witnessed Asia Cement showcase its strength and contributions in low-carbon building material technology under the theme of "Sustainability, Environmental Protection, and Low-Carbon Innovation." Lee Kun-yen, President of Asia Cement expressed the company's long-standing commitment to sustainable development and its dedication to transforming Taiwan's building materials market. With the goal of becoming a model enterprise in Taiwan's green building materials sector, Asia Cement is progressively introducing low-carbon products to the international stage. As Taiwan's first company to research, manufacture, and sell low-carbon cement, Asia Cement has established a stable and efficient supply chain through its production bases in Hualien and Hsinchu. By connecting with a network of northern, central, southern, and eastern terminal and transportation facilities and collaborating with 75 green-minded distributors, Asia Cement not only fulfills the needs of construction industry among various regions but also extends the spirit of low-carbon building materials across Taiwan, injecting sustainable energy into the island's construction industry. Asia Cement is actively promoting sustainable building materials and reducing carbon footprints through innovative technologies. While the domestic market of low-carbon cement is still developing due to regulations and preference of users of the products., Asia Cement, as a carbon reduction pioneer, has been sending its low-carbon marketing team to construction sites and exhibitions nationwide for years to promote its products. Asia Cement's exclusive masonry cement, first launched in 2011, experienced a gradual growth in sales initially. However, with the rising trend of carbon reduction in recent years and various industries facing carbon anxiety, the demand for low-carbon cement and other green building materials has surged, leading to a significant increase in sales of masonry cement. In 2023, sales volume at least quadrupled compared to 2021 if not more. Similarly, the sales of another product, Portland limestone cement, launched in 2022, have been climbing year after year. According to statistics, sales from January to November 2024 have reached nearly 12 times of the total sales for the entire year of 2023. Asia Cement expects the low-carbon cement market to experience exponential growth in the future, aiming to reach a sales target of 500,000 tons by 2035. Asia Cement's subsidiary, Ya-tung Ready-Mixed Concrete, which co-exhibited at the event, focuses on the research and application of high-performance and low-carbon concrete. Ya-tung Ready-Mixed Concrete operates 20 production bases across Taiwan, customizing low-carbon concrete to meet customer needs with a carbon reduction of up to 50%. Milton King, President of Ya-tung Ready Mixed Concrete Company pointed out that the company's carbon reduction strategies include using Pozzolanic materials such as ground granulated blast-furnace slag, replacing ordinary cement with Asia Cement's Portland limestone cement, adding X-Seed series chemical admixtures, adjusting aggregates and formula, precise batching through AI digital transformation, and introducing carbon mineralization absorption technology. Additionally, Ya-tung Ready Mixed Concrete has established an ESG interactive zone on its website, where customers can use a carbon footprint calculator to estimate their carbon emissions, download a quality management app to trace real-time footprints of the product, and obtain Low Embodied Carbon Level 1 certification. From a stable supply chain to innovative low-carbon technologies, Asia Cement and Ya-tung Ready Mixed Concrete consistently stand at the forefront of green transformation, providing more low-carbon solutions and working together to create a more competitive green building materials market and promote sustainable industrial development. The booths of Asia Cement and Ya-tung Ready Mixed Concrete are located at N906 in the Green Building and Materials Zone on the fourth floor of the Nangang Exhibition Center, and the exhibition will be open until 4 pm on the 15th.
